What is umbrella insurance?Umbrella insurance is an added layer of liability coverage, which is the coverage you need when you injure someone or do damage to their property. The added layer is on top of the coverage you already have with your auto and home/renters/condo insurance.
You hope you never have a reason to use it, but when a serious accident happens it can cost a lot to make right and if your auto insurance or home/renters/condo insurance runs out of money to pay for the injury/damages, the rest ends up coming out of your pocket. That is why we feel it is not only important to have good limits of liability on your auto and home/renters/condo insurance, but to also have an umbrella policy. At times, umbrellas can provide liability coverage where your auto and home/renters/condo policy do not. The best part: it can be a free (perhaps even more than a free) policy with the bundling discounts it gives to the auto and home/renters/condo policy. Have more questions?
